Answers Before You Submit

Frequently asked questions

These are the most common questions sellers have before submitting luxury handbags, accessories, Disney collectibles, estate pieces, and collector items for private resale review.

Still unsure? Most questions come down to 3 things: whether the item is a fit, whether it is worth reviewing, and what happens if it qualifies for the next step.

What kinds of items do you accept?

We review select luxury handbags, wallets, small leather goods, designer accessories, jewelry, watches, Disney Loungefly bags, Disney pins, limited release Disney collectibles, estate items, collector toys, figures, and curated closet cleanout collections.

What do you not accept?

We do not accept counterfeit, replica, altered, or questionable branded goods. We also do not accept bulky furniture, mattresses, broken junk, low value household clutter, unsafe goods, restricted items, general donations, or cleanout leftovers with no clear resale demand.

Do you accept everything that gets submitted?

No. Every item is screened based on category, brand, condition, authenticity risk, buyer demand, likely resale value, and whether it fits the current resale focus.

What is the minimum value you look for?

We usually focus on individual items with realistic resale value of $100 or more. Lower value items may still be reviewed when they are part of a larger collector group, Disney collection, estate group, or closet cleanout collection.

Do you review items from outside Florida?

Yes. The Recycle Room is Florida based and may review select submissions from across the United States. If an item looks like a fit, we will explain the next step logistics before anything moves forward.

Do I have to commit to selling when I submit the form?

No. Submitting the form starts a private resale review. It does not require you to sell, ship, or hand over the item. If the item looks like a fit, we will contact you with next steps.

How much can I earn?

Your earnings depend on the final sale price, seller payout tier, marketplace fees, authentication costs when required, shipping or handling costs, and other approved direct selling costs.

When do I get paid?

Payment timing depends on the resale arrangement. In a standard consignment situation, payout happens after the item sells, payment clears, and any return or platform hold period has passed.

How long does it take to sell?

There is no fixed timeline. It depends on category, condition, price, seasonality, buyer demand, platform rules, authentication needs, and how strong the item is compared with similar resale inventory.

Do I have to deal with buyers?

No. The goal is to help sellers avoid lowball messages, scam risk, no shows, listing fatigue, and buyer communication. If an item qualifies, we explain the resale process before moving forward.

Do you offer instant buyouts?

The primary focus is private resale review and consignment fit. Any direct purchase or buyout option would be handled separately and only for selected items when it makes sense.

Do you authenticate luxury items?

We screen submissions for authenticity concerns, but higher risk luxury brands may require third party authentication before resale. Authentication costs may be deducted from seller proceeds unless acceptable proof is provided during intake.

What happens if my item is fake or questionable?

Counterfeit, replica, altered, or questionable branded goods are not accepted for resale. If an item cannot reasonably pass authenticity review, it will not be listed or sold. Return shipping, authentication costs, and a $50 handling fee may apply before a rejected item is returned.

What photos should I submit?

Send clear photos of the front, back, inside, bottom, labels, tags, serial details, markings, hardware, flaws, accessories, receipts, boxes, dust bags, and authenticity cards when available.

What happens if my item does not sell?

That depends on the final resale arrangement. Possible next steps may include repricing, changing the resale path, bundling, holding for a better timing window, or arranging return logistics when applicable.

Do I need to ship or drop off my item?

Do not ship or drop off anything unless The Recycle Room has reviewed your submission and provided written next step instructions. Most submissions start with photos only.

If your item is conditionally approved, we may provide a tracked shipping label. Shipping, insurance, authentication, packaging, return shipping, and handling costs may be deducted from seller proceeds unless otherwise agreed.
