Private Review Process

How the resale review process works

The Recycle Room is built for sellers who want a more organized way to review and prepare select luxury handbags, accessories, Disney collectibles, estate pieces, and collector items for resale.

Submit clear photos first Not every item is accepted Authenticity matters
Step 1

Send item details

Use the submission form to send photos, category, brand, condition, proof of purchase when available, and any important notes.

Step 2

We review for fit

We review category, condition, authenticity risk, resale demand, likely value range, and whether the item fits the current resale focus.

Step 3

We explain next steps

If the item looks like a fit, we contact you with the likely resale path, payout structure, preparation needs, and any authentication requirements.

Step 4

You decide whether to continue

Submitting an item does not commit you to sell. The first step is a private review so both sides can decide whether the item should move forward.

What improves your chances

  • Clear photos from multiple angles
  • Photos of labels, tags, serial details, markings, hardware, interiors, flaws, and accessories
  • Brand, model, collection, year, size, or purchase details when available
  • Honest notes about wear, repairs, stains, odors, missing pieces, or alterations
  • Proof of purchase, authentication paperwork, receipts, boxes, dust bags, or authenticity cards when available
  • Items with realistic resale value of $100 or more, or groups with strong bundle value

What may stop an item from moving forward

  • Counterfeit, replica, altered, or questionable branded goods
  • No reasonable path to authentication for higher risk luxury items
  • Heavy damage, strong odors, missing major pieces, or poor presentation condition
  • Low value household goods with weak resale demand
  • Bulky furniture, mattresses, general donations, or cleanout leftovers
  • Items that are unsafe, restricted, or not practical to sell

Authentication and seller costs

Higher risk luxury brands may require third party authentication before resale. Authentication costs may be deducted from seller proceeds unless acceptable proof of authenticity is provided during intake.

Counterfeit, replica, altered, or questionable branded goods are not accepted. If an item cannot reasonably pass authenticity review, it will not be listed or sold, and return shipping, authentication costs, and handling fees may apply.

What this means for you

The Recycle Room is designed for sellers who want help reviewing and preparing the right items, not for people looking to unload random clutter.

If your item is a fit, the next step is a more detailed conversation about the best resale path, likely costs, expected seller share, and timing.

Why the review comes first

A selective review process protects the seller, the buyer, and the brand. It helps keep the inventory focused on items with stronger resale appeal, clearer condition details, and fewer authenticity concerns.

How shipping works

Most submissions start with photos only. Do not ship anything unless The Recycle Room has reviewed your submission and provided written next step instructions.

If your item is conditionally approved, we may provide a tracked shipping label. Shipping, insurance, authentication, packaging, return shipping, and handling costs may be deducted from seller proceeds unless otherwise agreed.

Before anything is shipped

  • Your item must pass photo based review first
  • You must receive next step instructions from The Recycle Room
  • Shipping method, tracking, insurance, and costs must be agreed before the item is sent
  • Counterfeit, replica, altered, misrepresented, or questionable items will not be listed or sold
